After Anthem Pets lost its president and founder, Barbara Ward-Windgassen [see “Saying Goodbye to Our Pets’ Best Friend,” In&Out, Sept. 12], the group has carried on her legacy by continuing to find foster and forever homes for pets in need, as well as returning lost fur-babies back to their owners. But Barb’s shoes are hard to fill.
Join Anthem Pets in a memorial walk around Anthem’s community park for Barb Oct. 12 from 9 to 11 a.m. Twenty-dollar donations (no donation is too large or small) are encouraged but not required. All proceeds benefit Anthem Pets’ efforts to help animals in the area.
Sign in at the red tent between the community center and Anthem School. Wristbands will be distributed to those who make a donation. Starting point for the walk is on Freedom Way and water will be provided at the halfway mark.
All family members are encouraged to attend, especially well-behaved four-legged ones (on a leash, please).
