Sixty-four puppies and kittens were turned in to the Maricopa County Animal Care and Control West Valley shelter Thursday, Feb. 28. The first two months of 2013 brought a surplus of animals into the East and West Valley shelters.
That’s why MCACC is sponsoring the “Adopt Me, I’m Pawsitively Perfect” adoption event March 1-3. There are 140 animals in need of a forever home. Cats and kittens are free. Dogs 3 months and older have a $17 adoption fee, which includes age-appropriate vaccinations and spay or neuter. Microchips, heartworm tests, and FELV tests are also available at time of adoption for an additional fee.
Pets are available seven days a week at two adoption centers, Under One Woof located inside the Metrocenter Mall, or at the MCACC’s Petsmart Charities Adoption Center, located inside the Scottsdale PetSmart at 4380 N. Miller Road. Animals are also available six days a week at the West valley shelter at 2500 S. 27th Ave., Phoenix. The East Valley shelter is located at 2630 W. Rio Salado Parkway, Mesa.
