Her owner was shipped to Afghanistan for duty. We’ll never know exactly what happened abroad, but when he came back there just wasn’t room in his life for Babe, the 6-year old female Norwegian Elk Hound.
According to Anthem Pets, the veteran’s mom took Babe in for a while, but she’s moving and can’t bring Babe along. So, Babe needs someone to take care of her—just for now, if that’s all you can do— but a permanent home would be ideal. According to Anthem Pets, she needs her own person she can bond with again.
Babe, a little overweight, is said to have a sweet demeanor. Those who know her say she loves walks and belly rubs. She responds to some commands, is housebroken and eager to please. Good with other dogs and even cats, Babe is spayed and up-to-date on shots. She is even micro-chipped.
